Children’s author, general editorial services

Lisa Regan

I have written over 200 published titles for children, covering many topics including reference, curriculum-based workbooks, preschool fiction, puzzles, annuals and craft books. If there’s a title to be written but no obvious author, I can usually fill the gap…

My background is in editorial, with 10 years’ experience working in publishing companies, ending up as Editorial Manager, before branching out as a freelancer editor. I proofread, copy edit, Americanise, project manage…you ask and I’ll probably have done it before!

I have freelanced for numerous publishing companies including the AA, Scholastic, Dorling Kindersley, Small World, Parragon, Ladybird, Ripley’s, Egmont and Autumn. The list would be too long and boring if I namechecked them all!

I work from home and am Quark and InDesign-friendly. I have two young boys so can talk professionally between 9am and 3pm – outside those times the background noise increases drastically. They do work well as a mini KS1/KS2 focus group though. You see, children do come in useful sometimes…
